Impressive, A+ job on minimalism! Your luggage reminded me of The Unbearable Lightness of Being, so I googled it. Very philosophical novel (wish I remembered reading it and took philosophy in college so I wouldn't have to look it up on shmoop.com). Nietzsche's eternal return concept, heaviness of life (as a positive), and love of one's fate versus Parmenides' one life concept, lightness of life, no future lives against which to judge or to feel compared. Curious to hear your take on that in a year! xo
Tough, but very interesting conundrum! Not sure a year is enough to figure that one out, really, but until you do, Stacy, I'd go with the Greek and ENJOY THE SWEET LIGHTNESS OF BEING! (remember, Nietzsche got nuts trying to cope with the opposite and Kundera's unbearability does not sound like much fun either)
